David joined Channel 3 after 8 years of working across a number of NHS national data and digital programmes. He has run national data and statistics operations, including in adult social care and COVID crisis response. Most recently he was an adviser on data and intelligence operations at NHS England and Improvement, specialising in community health services and hospital discharge.

In previous national programmes, he’s led a range of national interoperability workstreams, collaborating with providers, commissioners, system suppliers, informaticians – the full gamut of health stakeholders.  He’s worked with the Healthy Child Programme on the eRedbook, Child Protection Information Sharing, GP2GP, the Emergency Care Data Set and several internal workstreams at NHS Digital when they migrated to a new multi-million-pound data processing platform. He also served as an Army Officer, specialising in mission planning for aerial drone operations.

Alongside his day job, he has recently earned a distinction at MSc in Health Data Science with the University of Manchester.

In his spare time, Dave is a dedicated family man and football enthusiast. He also enjoys fell running in his native Yorkshire or further afield whenever he can.

I like to make best use of my academic and real-world experience, helping people and systems across health and care to make the most of their data and digital operations.
